The National Assembly ratified the Framework Agreement on the Establishment of the International Solar Alliance with 42 Votes and 1 Abstaining out of the total of 43 Members present and voting. 

The ratification of the Framework Agreement on Solar energy is expected to enable the promotion and development of solar technologies in the country and benefit the country through a variety of arrangements in the form of assistance for undertaking studies & assessments of projects and programs, investment mobilizations, technical backstopping, and knowledge sharing. 

The Framework Agreement will be forwarded to the National Council of Bhutan for ratification.
