The National Assembly Family bid Dasho Karma Weezir farewell after superannuating on 14th October 2021 as the Secretary General of the National Assembly.  His Majesty the King appointed Dasho Karma Weezir as the National Assembly Secretary General on 6th May 2020.

Dasho started his career as a Trainee Officer in 1986 and served under various capacities as Chief Planning Officer, Deputy Director, Gasa, Haa, and Samtse Dzongdag. Before joining the National Assembly as the Secretary General, he served as the Director General of the Department of Culture under the Home & Cultural Affairs.

Dasho’s service to the nation wasn’t limited to the positions he served. He was commissioned as Short Service Officer (Militia) from 2nd June 1991-1995 and served in Samtse, Sarpang, and Lungtenphu.  He is also a De-suup trained in the 13th Batch (Executive Batch).

At the farewell gathering earlier yesterday, Dasho mentioned that even though he is superannuating from the civil service, he will always be in service to the nation.  His parting advice to the staff was to always work hard and to always serve the nation in one's own capacity. As a leader, he has always been open and available for the secretariat staff as a friend and a guide.

As Dasho makes the final exit from the National Assembly Secretariat, the National Assembly family wishes Dasho a very peaceful and happy life ahead.
