We are pleased to announce that the Bhutan Media Foundation is now accepting entries for the Bhutan Media Forum Award 2026—an initiative that celebrates outstanding initiatives by Government Agencies and Civil Servants in Bhutan that strengthen the nation’s media and public information ecosystem.
The Award is part of the Bhutan Media Forum 2026, supported by the Department of Media, Creative Industry and Intellectual Property (DoMCIIP) under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) through the Economic Stimulus Plan, which will be held on March 30 and 31, 2026 in Thimphu. The Forum is envisioned as a national platform for dialogue, media excellence, innovation, and collaboration to strengthen a resilient and responsible media ecosystem that reflects Bhutan’s unique cultural values and development aspirations.
As Bhutan undergoes rapid digital transformation and navigates the growing influence of artificial intelligence, public institutions and civil servants play a critical role in promoting transparency, improving access to information, and strengthening citizen engagement. This call for entries for the Bhutan Media Forum Award 2026 aims to recognize compelling initiatives led by Government Agencies and Civil Servants that demonstrate innovative public communication, responsible use of digital technologies, effective media collaboration, and improved information access for citizens.
Eligibility Criteria
- The initiative must be led or implemented by a Government Agency or Civil Servant in Bhutan.
- The initiative should demonstrate innovation in public communication, media engagement, information access, or digital transformation.
- The initiative should have taken place within the last three years.
- Both ongoing and completed initiatives are eligible for submission.
- Each agency may submit multiple initiatives, but each must be submitted separately.
Recognition
One distinguished winner will receive a custom-designed trophy, certificate, and a cash prize of Nu. 50,000 during the Bhutan Media Forum 2026.
Submission Deadline: March 25, 2026.
