SIIT,THAMMASAT UNIVERSITY FEE WAIVER-2021

The Department of Adult and Higher Education, Ministry of Education is pleased to announce that the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University in Thailand has offered two tuition fee waiver scholarships in any of the following programs for the academic year 2021.

1. Civil Engineering
2. Chemical Engineering
3. Mechanical Engineering
4. Industrial Engineering & Logistic system
5. Electrical Engineering
6. Engineering Management
7. Management Technology

Therefore, interested 2020 BHSEC (Class XII) cohort of students (except those already selected for 2021 incountry & Ex-country scholarships) with minimum of 60% each in Physics, Chemistry and Maths with 55% in English may apply for the slot.

Candidates fulfilling the above-mentioned criteria and able to fund other expenses including travel and living cost are advised to apply online at www.citizenservices.gov.bt/education-services and follow the link "Ad-hoc scholarship" on or before 9th July, 2021.

For online application/registration, the following documents must be ready:

        Online approved valid security clearance

• Scanned copy of class X mark sheet-front page only
• Bhutanese Citizenship Identity Card
• Index number of BHSEC 2020

Please note that repeaters and those already selected for any in-country/ex-country scholarships 2021 are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply. The Ministry of Education will select the candidates based on academic merit and forward the nominations to the University. The final confirmation of the nominated candidates will be subject to approval of the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology Scholarship Committee.

The Merit ranking and results of the nominated candidates will be given in the following websites: www.education.gov.bt & www.dahe.gov.bt latest by 10th July 2021.

Undergraduate Scholarship Program for Excellent Foreign Students: EFS-U (Bhutan)

Scholarships by Sirindhorn Technology Scholarship Fund are available for excellent students from reputable schools of any foreign country to study in a bachelor's degree program at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University, Thailand. The scholarships are available for the following programs:

Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.)

Chemical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Industrial Engineering and Logistics Systems
Mechanical Engineering

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
Engineering Management
Management Technology

Number of Scholarship:

• 2 continuing scholarships per academic year (4-year curriculum) for the Academic Years 2021-2023 (3 years)

Scholarship Coverage:

• 100% (full), 50% (half), or 25% (quarter) of tuition and educational support fees (excluding Thammasat University educational support fees)
  Remark: The types of scholarships are based on the students' scores from BHSEC-Class XII.

• Health and accident insurance during the period of scholarship in Thailand

Candidate Qualifications:

• Citizen of Bhutan
• Earn a high school diploma that complies with the curriculum of the Ministry of Education (Thailand) or its equivalent from other countries (grade 12 or equivalent)
• Have good behavior and a clean record with no offences against student discipline

• Have not been granted other SIIT continuing scholarships.

Application Method

• Submission of BHSEC-Class XII (Bhutan Higher Secondary Education Certificate)

Interview

• All candidates who have passed the initial screening are interviewed by SIIT faculty member via Skype or phone.

Conditions to Continue the Scholarship:

• Maintain a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.75 with no "F", "U", or "W" grades
• Good conduct without a record of student disciplinary offences
• Assist in the Institute's work for:
  -24 hours (full scholarship) per semester
  -16 hours (half scholarship) per semester
  -8 hours (quarter scholarship) per semester
