Position Title:    Director

Position Level:    EX3 A

Minimum Qualification required:  Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (relevant)

Key responsibilities are to:

1. Lead and set strategic direction of Bhutan Food & Drug Authority to fulfill the strategic goals of the organization.
2. Developing and overseeing the implementation of policies, procedures & systems for effective and efficient functioning of the Authority.
3. Adopt guidelines and standard operating procedures relating to biosecurity, food safety, medical products and narcotics control.
4. Oversee the overall functions of the Authority in terms of regulatory compliance, enforcement of safety standards & requirements in plant and animal biosecurity, food safety, medical products and narcotics control. 
5. Ensure effective implementation of the roles and responsibilities of the Medical Product Division, Control Substance Medical Device Division, Plant & Animal Biosecurity Division, Food Quality & Safety Division, National Food Testing Lab and Certification Services.
