The Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) would like to inform the public that despite repeated notifications to refrain from participating/propagating the Ponzi scheme called `Tallwin Life Plan`, the certain section of general public is still found to be engaging in this fraudulent scheme.
To this effect, the Financial Intelligence Department of the Authority has frozen several bank accounts of the individuals involved/propagating the scheme to general populace for further exhaustive investigation by the competent Law Enforcement Agency as enshrined in the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering of Financing of Terrorism Act of Bhutan 2018.
The operation and engaging in this scheme contravenes Section 11 and liable under Section 15 of the Financial Service Act of Bhutan 2011. Further, the operation of this fraudulent scheme also violates provisions under the Penal Code of Bhutan 2004.
The Royal Monetary Authority reiterates its call to the public to abstain from engaging in the scheme in order to avoid potential legal repercussions.
