As the socio-economic development of the country progressed, and the construction horizon opened up in late 1980s Lhaki Construction Private Limited was established which was perhaps the first kind of construction firm in Bhutan. Later in the 1990s Dasho envisaged abundant requirement of construction materials for a developing nation, Dasho established the Lhaki Cement Plant in 1992 at Gomtu as the area had bountiful deposits of high grade limestone.
