This is for the information of the general public that there are many fake and unauthorized operators recruiting and advertising overseas job vacancies on social media and through personal contacts.

The Ministry would like to inform the general public that as per the Regulations on Employment of Bhutanese Overseas, 2017, “No person/s shall recruit and deploy a Bhutanese Citizen to work overseas without a valid license”. The Regulation also states that the recruitment and placement of job seekers by any person or entity not licensed as an Employment Agent shall be liable for penalty. In addition, the case shall be forwarded to the relevant authorities.

To overcome scam and fake operators, jobseekers are advised to abide by the following instructions:

1. Apply for jobs only with MoLHR’s registered agents.

2. Cross check with the Ministry on any overseas jobs advertised online.

3. No payments to be made to the agents unless authorised by MoLHR.
