Dates for Home & Board Examinations for academic year 2021 & reopening of schools in academic year 2022

This is to notify all the Dzongkhags, Thromdes and Schools that the Ministry of Education (MOE) has decided on the dates to conduct the home and board examinations for the academic year 2021 and reopening of the schools for the academic year 2022 as detailed below. The conduct ofthe board examination has been decided in consultation with the Bhutan Certificate of School Examination and Assessment (BCSEA). This also has reference to approved Note Sheet No. DSE/SPCD/ADM (l .24)/2021/2027 dated 14 September 2021 of the Ministry.

Dates for home and board examinations for academic year 2021

1. Home Examination

A. All unaffected schools (Classes IV-IX and XI): Third week of November 2021.

B. Affected schools

1. Dzongkhag and Thromde authorities to decide an appropriate date and intimate MoE.
   Classes IV-VIII of Phuentsholing Thromde and Chumithang MSS under Chhukha dzongkhag:
2. Classes IX and XI of Phuentshothang School (Punakha Dzongkhag/Phuentsholing Thromde). Chumithang MSS (Chhukha Dzongkhag), Norbu Academy and Yonten Kuenjung Academy (Pvt. Schools of Phuentsholing): Dzongkhag and Thromde authorities to decide an appropriate date and intimate MoE.
3. Class IV-IX & XI of schools under Samtse Dzongkhag can follow the Sl. No i & ii above and intimate MOE. The schools are Gomtu HSS, Peljorling HSS, Tashicholing P S, Gayshingoan PS, Depheling PS and Phuntshopelri PS.

2. Board examination

1. Examination
   12 February 2022: TVET Practical for seven TVET schools ii. 14 - 28 February 2022: Main Examinations
2. Evaluation
   5-24 March 2022: Evaluation (conduct simultaneously for both class X and XII to enable the schools to reopen on time for the 2022 academic year).
3. Result declaration:
   3 April 2022: Result Declaration for BHSEC and LCSC-XII ii. 10 April 2022: Result Declaration for BCSE and LCSC-X
4. Vacation

1. Unaffected schools: 19 December 2021 -14 January 2022 (Classes X & Xll only) ii. Affected Schools: No vacation for Classes X and X Il of Phuentshothang School (Punakha Dzongkhag/Phuentsholing Thromde), Chumithang MSS (Chhukha Dzongkhag), Norbu Academy and Yonten Kuenjung Academy (Private Schools of Phuentsholing Thromde) and Gomtu HSS and Peljorling HSS (Samtse Dzongkhag)

Dates for reopening of schools in the academic year 2022

1. New academic year:
A. Primary Schools (PS) and Lower Secondary Schools (LSS) Classes PP-VI: 1 March 2022 ii. Classes VII-VIII: 15 February 2022 iii. Teacher repotting

1. Primary Schools: 15 February 2022
2. Lower Secondary Schools: I February 2022
3. Teachers and support staff (PS and LSS) involved in evaluation camps shall report to the respective schools as soon as their assignments with the BCSEA ends.

B. MSS & HSS

i. All classes: I March 2022 for all schools except those schools used for evaluation camp.
ii. All classes at the two schools used for evaluation camp: 26 March 2022.
iii. Class XI: Boarding students to report on 17 April 2022 and day students on the morning of 18 April 2022.
iv. Teachers: Teachers not participating in the evaluation camps shall repott to their schools on 15 February 2022. Those participating in the evaluation camps shall report to their respective schools by 28 March 2022
