The Hydropower Training Center (HTC) at Tala, Rinchentse was inaugurated on February 11, 2021, coinciding with the 30th Day of the 12th Month Female Ox Year. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Rinchentse Lam, Tala and HoP, THP with a simple tendrel ceremony. Samten Lungay, Head, HTC joined office on February 9, 2021. HTC has implemented first training program from February 1-2, 2021 on Power Systems for 10 employees and many in-house training programs are in pipeline for implementation.
The SAP Profit Centre for the Hydropower Training Centre was formally launched on March 18, 2021. The Hydropower Training Center was established in Tala as a knowledge transfer center to leverage on the competencies within DGPC for improving business and technical practices in various aspects of hydropower operation, maintenance and management. The main objective for the creation of Profit Centre is to bring in financial discipline. The essential modules like Human Capital (HCM), Sales & Distribution (SD), Finance & Cost Control (FICO) and Material Management (MM) were integrated to bring in efficiency, transparency and for proper reporting.
The one-month project was successfully executed by the experts from Thimphu Tech Park (TTPL) along with the SAP focal persons from DGPC.
