The Department of Employment and Human Resources (DoEHR), Ministry of Labour and Human Resources in collaboration with the Royal Textile Academy conducted a 10-day Basic Entrepreneurship Course for 19 participants, out of which 17 were female and 2 were male.

The participants successfully completed the Tri-Ma and Hor weaving.The course was focused on developing the entrepreneurial competencies to better leverage their skills in textile. The participants were encouraged to practise home based entrepreneurship to test the market with their innovative approach, gain experience and meaningfully engage themselves during the pandemic through self-employment.

Eight business ideas were pitched during the closing ceremony and the top four were awarded a cash prize of Nu. 50,000 each. The main objective of the cash prize is to help them realize their business ideas. Further, all the participants were awarded certificates. The closing ceremony of the program was held on July 15, 2021 and was graced by the Director General of DoEHR, MoLHR.
