Job Title: In-Country Representative – Bhutan

Location: Thimphu, Bhutan (with coordination with Regional Offshore office)

Reporting To: Regional Offshore Marketing Manager

Job Type: Full-time, Office based.

Job Overview

Wentworth Institute is seeking an experienced, proactive, and results-oriented In-Country Representative to lead student recruitment and market development activities in Bhutan.

This role is responsible for strengthening Wentworth Institute’s presence in the Bhutan market through strategic engagement with education agents, prospective students, schools, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will work independently to drive enrolments, maintain strong industry relationships, and represent the institution across various recruitment and promotional activities.

The role will coordinate closely with the Regional Offshore Marketing Team and collaborate with the other departments of Bhutan office team when required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Recruitment & Market Development

• Develop and implement student recruitment strategies to achieve enrolment targets from Bhutan
• Maintain relationship with agents, schools, and key stakeholders within the region
• Identify new agents and market opportunities and expand outreach across Bhutan
• Represent Wentworth Institute at education fairs, seminars, and promotional events

2. Agent & Partner Management

• Build, train, and maintain strong relationships with education agents and partners
• Identify and onboard potential new recruitment partners
• Monitor agent performance and ensure compliance with institutional standard
• Provide regular product training and updates to agents

3. Marketing & Brand Promotion

• Plan and implement localized marketing campaigns (digital & offline)
• Coordinate with the central marketing team for campaigns, content, and branding
• Manage social media presence and promotional activities in the Bhutan region
• Organize webinars, workshops, and information sessions
  
  

4. Student Application Support & Conversion

• Guide prospective students through the enquiry and application process
• Ensure applications submitted are complete, genuine, and meet institutional requirements
• Work closely with Offshore Marketing Manager and admissions teams to improve conversion rates
• Follow up on enquiries, applications, and pending student matters in a timely manner

5. Market Intelligence & Reporting

• Monitor competitor activity and market trends
• Provide regular reports on student recruitment performance and insights
• Recommend strategies for continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in international student recruitment (preferably Australia market)
• Strong understanding of Bhutan education market and student recruitment landscape
• Experience working with education agents and recruitment partners
• Prior experience in the Australian education sector will be highly regarded
