The Royal Textile Academy is pleased to announce a Calligraphy Workshop as part of its Education Program.
This initiative aligns with our mandate to preserve, promote and transmit Bhutan’s rich textile, artistic and cultural heritage to younger generations. Calligraphy, especially ๐˜›๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ถ๐˜จ-๐˜ ๐˜ช๐˜จ (Dzongkha), is a treasured cultural art form deeply embedded in Bhutanese identity, monastic traditions and historical documentation practices.
Through structured training in ๐˜›๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ถ๐˜จ-๐˜ ๐˜ช๐˜จ (Dzongkha) and Italic Copperplate (English) calligraphy, the workshop aims to nurture students’ appreciation for traditional writing styles while fostering creativity, discipline and cultural understanding.
The workshop will run for 8 days, from January 12 to January 21, 2026 and is open to students from Class 7 to college level.
