What will you be working on? Job Description/ToR for the Satellite Ground Station Operator (Technician)

1. Operate ground station systems to track satellites to send commands to satellites and
receive data from satellites
2. Monitor the performances and status of ground station equipment, including antennas,
receivers, transmitters, and other related equipment and troubleshoot basic issues as
needed
3. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and perform repairs as needed, including
diagnosing and replacing faulty components
4. Maintain and update operational schedule, records, logs, and reports to ensure accurate
documentation of ground station activities
5. Report to the supervisor any major issues faced at the ground station and any observation
of major anomalies
6. Monitor weather conditions and adjust satellite communication systems accordingly to
maintain optimal performance

7. Assist in the design, testing, and deployment of new ground station equipment and
systems
8. Assist in procurement of ground station equipment and systems
9. Implement and maintain safety procedures and protocols at the ground station to ensure a
safe working environment for all staff
10. Train and mentor new staff on ground station operations and procedures
11. Assist the Division and the Agency in other works as required
