The Department of Forests and Park Services (DoFPS), Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources is pleased to announce the One-Year Certificate Course in Forestry (2025-2026 intake) at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Forestry Research and Training (UWIFoRT), Lamai Goempa, Bumthang.

The Department of Forests and Park Services (DoFPS), Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources is pleased to announce the One-Year Certificate Course in Forestry (2025-2026 intake) at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Forestry Research and Training (UWIFoRT), Lamai Goempa, Bumthang.

1. Selection Criteria:

• Qualification: Class XII passed with a minimum of 50% in all subjects (excluding optional subjects).

• Age Limit: Applicant must be 26 years or younger at the time of application.

• Shortlisting:

1. 150 candidates will be initially shortlisted based on academic merit.

2. These candidates must complete a physical fitness test 8 kilometers within 60 minutes to qualify for the next stage.

3. Candidates who complete the marathon within the stipulated time will sit for a viva voce (oral interview).

4. Final selection will be based on the combined score of academic performance and viva voce.

• Drug Testing: All selected candidates must undergo a mandatory drug test. All related Costs shall be borne by the individual. Candidates testing positive for proscribed drugs will be disqualified.

2. Selection Weightage:

a. Academic marks: 80%

b. Viva voce: 20%

3. Application Process

or hardcopy submissions to the UWIFoRT Office in Bumthang or via email to trainingunit@uwice.gov.bt on or before 6th of June 2025 before 5:00 PM.

• Class XII Pass Certificate

• Class XII Statement of Marks

• School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate

• Citizenship Identity Card

• Medical Certificate

• Valid Security Clearance (Online approved)

Note: Original documents MUST be produced during the selection interview for verification at the time of the interview.

1. Schedules:

a. Last date for submission of application with a complete set of documents (Online or in Person): 6th June 2025

b. Physical fitness test/marathon: 14th June 2025

c. Viva voce: 16th and 17th June, 2025

d. Start of the course: 1st July, 2025

2. The shortlisted candidates for the physical fitness test (marathon) will be intimated through a call. The shortlisted list will be uploaded on the UWIFoRT (www.uwicer.gov.bt) and DoFPS (www.dofps.gov.bt) website.

3. The marathon will be conducted in Thimphu. Candidates shortlisted for the marathon should reach Lungten Zampaand Yangchenphu Junction on 14th June 2025 at 5:00 AM sharp for briefing and marathon. Those who fail to report on time shall be disqualified from participating in the marathon race.

4. The final selected candidates' list will be uploaded on the UWIFoRT and DoFPS/MoENR websites.
