Eight learners completed their one year tailoring course at Zhemgang Community Learning Centre(CLC) today. This is the third batch of learners, since its establishment in 2017. Hon’ble Dasho Dzongda, graced the ceremony and awarded certificates to the graduates. A brief exhibition to showcase the product made by the learners was organized. Dasho in his address to the congregation expressed his appreciation on the type of program the centre is catering and the quality of their product. Dasho also assured full support to the program such as allotment of annual maintenance budget, materials and provision of sanitation facilities (toilet) in the centre.
There are three such centre in the Dzongkhag viz. Zhemgang CLC, Tshaildang CLC and Sonamthang CLC. The Community learning centre is a program initiated by Non Formal Education Division (NFCED), Department of Adult and Higher Education, Ministry of Education.
The learners were taught how to make:
- Gho
- Kira
- Wonju
- Toego
- Jacket
- Appron
- Lagay
- Choezey,
- Chodrom Kheb
- Simple bag
- Pot mat
