“We are thankful to the US Agency for International Development, Bhutan Foundation, and Loden Foundation for their support. With this, we can grow various cash crops such as asparagus, pumpkin, cherry pepper chili, and fruit crops such as watermelon, dragon fruit, grapes, and avocado. We are hoping the crops will yield more once the fencing is complete,” shares Kinley Mo.

Kinley Mo is one of the entrepreneurs from the Loden-Bhutan Foundation COVID-19 Response Grants. She has been in agribusiness for over 20 years. Currently, she has prepared eight acres of land and placed an order for fencing materials for her farmland in Wangdue Phodrang. Unfortunately, due to the lockdown in Phuntsholing, she is yet to get fencing materials from the manufacturer. Through this grant support, she plans to scale up her business and protect her farm from wild animals. As of now, there are seven team members employed on the farm.
