Jacaranda and Cassia Plantation (Social Forestry Day)
[CLOSED] This post is no longer validthe Punakha Dzongkhag organised a Jacaranda and Cassia plantation along the Lobesa-Punakha highway in collaboration with Forest Division, College of Natural Resources (CNR), Department of Road, and RBP Division II, Punakha.
A total of 91 Jacaranda mimosifolia and 12 Cassia fistula saplings were planted along the Lobesa-Punakha highway which is funded by Tourism Council of Bhutan.
In keeping with COVID-19 safety protocols, the small outdoor event was attended by the relevant stakeolders. The plantation will be maintained jointly by the CNR, Dzongkhag and Forest Division.
The day (June 2) is also observed as Social Forestry Day.
