The Guide Association of Bhutan would like to notify you that we will be conducting training on 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬. The duration of the training will be for 𝟏𝟑 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐒 which includes 3 days of theory class in Thimphu and 10 days field visit to 𝐙𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐠, 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐠, 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐬𝐞, 𝐋𝐡𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝟑𝟎 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬.
The theory class will be delivered by Mr. Namgay Dorji, who holds master’s degree in Forestry and Ecotourism.
The training will start from 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒.
Interest and eligible (𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝑶𝑹) tourist guides can register through the 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦 given along this notification.

𝟏. 𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆:
With globalization and modernity, the whole world is in pursuit of sustainable tourism, Bhutan’s pristine nature and rich biodiversity is a pride. With about 70% of forests cover and other vast lands under protected area, the quest for Bhutan’s eco-tourism become a reality.
The GEF Ecotourism project covers five districts of Lhuentse, Mongar, Trashingang, Trashiyagtse and Zhemgang. And our tourism service providers have lot of offer, specially our tourist guides.
The project aims to understand the concept of Ecotourism that would foster the rural economy by promoting wildlife-based tourism, creation of local opportunity and increase community resilience. The homestays, bird-watching sites, nature-based activities, local cuisines, local products, community festivals etc. are some of the components that this training will focus on.
So, this training will provide a comprehensive hand-to-hand study, experience to all the participants.
 
𝟐. 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 (𝐓𝐎𝐑)
2.1 The training will be for the period of 10 days which includes 3 days of theory class in Thimphu and 10 days of field visit in Zhemgang, Tashigang, Trashiyangtse, Lhuentse and Mongar.
2.2 During the 3 days theory class lunch will be provided and during the 10 days field visit accommodation (hotel), transportation and full board meals will be inclusive.
2.3 Tourist guides holding 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 & 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 will be eligible for the training and must 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 and must have cleared 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.
2.4 Candidate must also have worked as Cultural & Trekking, Senior Tour Guide and Tour Leader for at least five years and above.
2.5 A nominal training fee of Nu. 2000/- (Two thousand only) needs to be deposited to affirm your registration.
