The Prime Minister questioned about the second nationwide Covid-19 vaccine

Among the five questions raised to the Ministers in Group A, today, during the question hour session, the Prime Minister was requested to present an update on Government’s preparedness and activities taken up for the second nationwide vaccine campaign. Question was also raised to the Minister for Information and Communication.
Responding to the question on the Government’s preparedness and activities taken up for the second nationwide vaccine campaign, the Prime Minister stated that even though India has assured support for the second dose of vaccine AstraZeneca, it would be inconsiderate to ask India for the supply of vaccines in view of its current situation. The Prime Minister informed that the government is exploring other possibilities and approaching other countries. He also expressed hope that the Government will be able to vaccinate the eligible citizens with the second dose in the next four weeks.
Other questions were on issues relating to the preventive measures and strategies taken up to avoid further Covid-19 outbreak, plans and measures taken up by the Government to ensure online classes are productive and excellent for the students, plans and policies in place to ensure fruitful outcomes of the 12th Five Year Plan, and clarification the reinstatement of the policy of cut-off point and normal examinations in schools.
The Question Hour session is scheduled every Tuesday and Friday morning.
