Hon’ble Lyonpo Dasho Dechen Wangmo, Minister for Health has been formally elected as the President of the World Health Assembly, an honour bestowed on Bhutan for the first time since it became a member of the WHO in 1982.
Hon’ble Lyonpo was nominated as the President of the 74th WHA by Member States of the WHO’s South East Asia Region last year. Hon’ble Lyonpo will hold the office of the President for a duration of one year.
Her Excellency will deliver the Presidential Address at 6 PM (BST) today
