The Royal Civil Service Commission is pleased to notify interested Bhutanese citizens regarding the India-Bhutan Friendship Scholarship at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur as detailed below:

1. This Programme aligns with the priorities of the Royal Government of Bhutan and provides quality STEM education to Bhutanese citizens at the premium Indian institution. Under this Scholarship, Bhutanese students can take up M. Tech programs.
2. For the academic year 2024-25, the India-Bhutan Friendship Scholarship will be available to three meritorious Bhutanese engineers. The admission process for the academic year 2024-25 starts on 25 March 2024 and the interested candidates need to submit an online application. Kindly go to iitk.ac.in/oir
3. For admissions under this Scholarship Scheme, interested candidates are also exempted from appearing in the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) which is otherwise mandatory. The admission is based on the academic records and the virtual interviews of the shortlisted candidates screened by the Screening Committee of IIT-Kanpur.
