The  Royal  Civil  Service  Commission  is  pleased  to  announce a vacancy  for  the  position  of  Executive  as  Director,  Department  of  Biomedical  Engineering,  National  Medical  Services,  as detailed below:

 Position Title:    Director

 Position Level:    EX3 A

 Minimum Qualification required:  Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (relevant)

 Key responsibilities are to:

1. Developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide the biomedical engineering services in the country.
2. Supporting patient  care  by  ensuring  functionality,  efficacy, and  safety  of  technology  for  all  health  facilities  under  the  NMS  through  systematic  repair,  maintenance  and 
3. Directing the activities of the department on planning and needs assessment,  budgeting and financing,  technology assessment and selection,  procurement and logistics,  installation and commissioning,  training and skills development,  operation and safety,  maintenance and repair,  decommissioning, and disposal of medical equipment and devices.

4. Ensuring timely replacement of medical equipment based on obsolescence,  safety issues, infeasibility for repair, user feedback, etc.
5. Ensuring assessment and prioritization of medical equipment procurement in coordination with DCS.

Who can Apply

1. P1 Management Civil servants with relevant experience and qualifications.
2. Civil servants  in the specialist  category  with  experience  in  working  in  biomedical procurement

 Service conditions:

1. A  specialist selected as the executive will serve for the duration of  5  years extendable by another term of  3  years based on performance.  They will revert to their technical agency/field on completion of the term.
