The Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB) secured an Additional Financing grant of USD 4.64m from the GAFSP for the Food Security & Agriculture Productivity Project

The Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB) secured an Additional Financing grant of USD 4.64m from the Global Agriculture & Food Security Program for the Food Security & Agriculture Productivity Project which is supervised by the World Bank. The RGoB in collaboration with the World Bank hereby adopts this “Resettlement Framework for the development of Abbreviated Resettlement Action Plan (A-RAP)” for the implementation of Additional Financing activities under the Food Security & Agriculture Productivity Project. This Resettlement Framework is adopted since the Bank’s Operational Policy 4.12 (OP 4.12) is triggered and is required before the commencement of the project appraisal under the Additional Financing.

The additional financing grant was approved within the same Project Development Objective of the existing project of increasing the agricultural productivity and enhancing access to markets for the selected 29 Gewogs in 5 Dzongkhags of Haa, Chhukha, Dagana, Sarpang & Samtse as given below and also to offset the impacts of COVID-19 in the Agriculture sector:

2. Chhukha Bongo, Getana, Metakha, Doongna, Samphelling and Phuentsholing
3. Dagana Karna, Drujeygang, Larjab, Karmaling, Nichula & Lhamoi Dzingkha
4. Sarpang Gakiling, Shompangkha, Dekiling, Samtenling, Umling & Tareythang
5. Samtse Tading, Dophuchen, Norboogang, Sa-Nga-Chhoeling, Yoeseltse & Tendruk
