CNR students undergo Internship at National Biodiversity Centre

A total of nine students from the College of Natural Resources are undergoing one month internship program at the National Biodiversity Centre from 19th April to 21st May 2021. Six students are from the 4th batch pursuing B.Sc. in Environment and Climate Studies and three students from the 7th batch pursuing B.Sc in Sustainable Development Program.

The orientation program was organized on 19th April 2020, where students were briefed on the NBC’s vision, mission, and mandates and functions followed by visits to six different programs and facilities of the Centre viz. National Herbarium Program, Botanic Garden Program, Plant Genetic Resources Program, Animal Genetic Resources Program, Bioprospecting Program and Biodiversity Information Management Program. During their internship program, students are attached to different programs and where they get both theory and hands on training on various activities surrounding conservation and sustainable utilization of biological resources that are being implemented by National Biodiversity Centre through various Programs of the Centre.

They expressed their happiness to have got this opportunity to join as interns at the Centre and expressed their gratitude to NBC for giving them such opportunities. They expressed their eagerness to learn and work hard during their internship period and beyond in the field of conservation and sustainable use biodiversity.
