The Ninth Session of the Third Parliament Commences Today

His Majesty The King graced the Opening Ceremony of Parliament. The Opening Ceremony was also attended by the members of the Royal Family.

His Majesty The King graced the Opening Ceremony of Parliament. The Opening Ceremony was also attended by the members of the Royal Family. The Chief Justice of Bhutan, Chief of Army, Chief of Police, government secretaries, constitutional post holders, former ministers and Nyekems, diplomats and UN personnels, college students and trainees also attended the opening ceremony. The Speaker of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly and her delegation also attended the opening ceremony.

The Speaker in his opening address offered his gratitude to His Majesty The Druk Gyalpo for the unwavering commitment and relentless pursuit of national prosperity and happiness. He also expressed appreciation to His Holiness the Je Khenpo and other highly revered and learned masters for the continuous rituals for the wellbeing of the land including the conferring wang lung and thrid of His Holiness’s 8-volume self-composed collection of teaching and practices. 

The Speaker also welcomed the newly elected Members of the 4th Parliament of the National Council and expressed gratitude to all those who participated in the National Council election. The Speaker then highlighted the agenda for the session.
