Theme: Our Common Future in a Changing World

Inspired by His Majesty the King’s emphasis on the importance of leveraging technologies to overcome our challenges as a nation in various Royal addresses and the two recent Kashos on Civil Service and Education Reform, Thimphu TechPark is initiating a national essay contest to celebrate our beloved King’s 41st Birth Anniversary on 21st February 2021 and raise awareness on the oncoming changes driven by technologies. We intend to make this an annual event henceforth.

“The world is changing rapidly. We cannot afford to avoid what we don’t yet understand and hope for the best. Such an attitude will cost us our national objective of self-reliance.”  –His Majesty the King.

Submission deadline 9th April 2021 
Prize declaration 7th May 2021, coinciding with the 9th Anniversary of Thimphu TechPark’s service to the Nation and touching lives. 
Evaluation criteriaEvaluation will be based on your knowledge, understanding, research and your own reflection and analysis. Choose any topic within the broad theme given above and give a unique title for your essay. Acknowledge references and quotes where necessary.
