Top 10 influencers in Bhutan

With the advent of the internet and particularly social media platforms, we have witnessed a lot of influencers rise to fame. Bhutan has its own set of influencers who are making a difference or simply putting a smile on all of us. Therefore, we have decided to create a list of the top 10 influencers in Bhutan purely based on their social media followers on the four social media platforms as of March 18, 2022.. The four platforms were selected as they are the most used in Bhutan which includes Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, and Youtube. We simply added their total number of followers/subscribers on these four platforms and ranked them in order. This list in no way undermines any one who didn’t make it to the list as  there are influencers who are making greater impact regardless of their follower count. 

1.Pinda Panda

Pinda Rika Dorji, who is popularly known as Pinda Panda is an esports personality, Youtuber, and gamer sits in our number one position. The 26-year-old Pinda is from Thimphu and is making her living by playing games. She not only has followers from Bhutan but from around the world. As of now, she has more than 746k followers on Facebook, 174k on Instagram and 33.2k and 187k on Tiktok and Youtube respectively making her the most followed personality from  Bhutan. 

2.Yeshi Lhendup Films

Yeshi Lhendup, the man behind the mesmerizing Bhutanese MTVs, graduated from Sherubtse College. He is the first Bhutanese to receive a Silver Creator Award or Play Button from YouTube in Bhutan after reaching one hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube. Today Yeshi Lhendup Film is the most viewed and the most popular entertainment social media account in the country. He has more than 69k followers on Facebook, 41.5k on Instagram, 8k on Tiktok, and 263.7k on YouTube. 

3.Sangay Tsheltrim

Sangay Tsheltrim is an actor, producer, Mr Bhutan and Bodybuilder. He is well known for his role in the Bollywood movie “Radhe” with famous Bollywood actor Salman Khan. He has more than 52k followers on Facebook, 129k on Instagram, 25.7k on Tiktok, and 12.9k on YouTube. 

4.Dasho Tshering Tobgay

Dasho Tshering Tobgay who needs no introduction as he is the former Prime Minister of Bhutan who served the country from March 2008 to April 2013. He is still the leader of People’s Democratic Party and he is also an environmentalist and a cultural advocate. He was born on September 19, 1965, in Haa and attended Harvard Kennedy School in 2004 and the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering in 1990. As of this writing, he is present on Facebook and Instagram with more than 189k followers on Facebook and 18.5k on Instagram. 

5.Kalden Dorji

Kalden Dorji is an artist, Tiktoker, and he also participated in the reality singing show “ Voice of Bhutan''. Currently, he is studying in one of the colleges in India. He has more than 15k followers on Facebook, 10.5k on Instagram, 163.6k on Tiktok, and 6.6k on YouTube. In addition, he is known for creating funny and meaningful dialogues on Tik Tok. 

6.Tandin Bidha

Tandin Bidha is an award-winning actress, Director, Mother, and Anchor. She won the best actor female in 2021 from her movie “ Ruebi Nyaka Phushay” and also made her debut as Director in the Samuh serial “A Glimmer of Hope” in 2022. Besides, she has been an Anchor in “ Voice of Bhutan” for all 4 seasons. She is from Paro and she is living happily with her son in Paro. She has more than 41.9k followers on Facebook, 90.4k on Instagram, and 58.7k on Tiktok. 

7.Tshering Yangden

Tshering Yangden who is popularly known as Pinky Yangden is a Singer and Composer. She has sung songs in many Bhutanese films and MTVs. Furthermore, she along with her friends Sonam Max Choki, Lha Dorji, and Deki Lhamo are known as “the Tsompapos'' after their viral song Tsompapo and it's sequel song. She has more than 108k followers on Facebook, 53.5k on Instagram, 19.5k on Tiktok, and 23.2k subscribers on Youtube. 

8.Misty Terrace

Tandin Wangchuk, who is known as Misty Terrace is a Songwriter, Musician, and Singer. He is popular for his amazing voice not just for singing Bhutanese songs but also for singing Nepali and Sikkimese songs. He has more than 88k followers on Facebook, 52.6k on Instagram, 1k on Tik Tok, and 34.1k subscribers on YouTube. 

9.Tshoki Tshomo Karchung

Tshoki Tshomo Karchung is a multi-talented personality who is an Actor, Producer, Scriptwriter, Director, and Mother. She won the title of First Miss Bhutan of Bhutan in 2008. Additionally, she has produced and acted in numerous films which won her awards and fame. She has more than 91k followers on Facebook, 65.7k on Instagram, and 13.7k on TikTok. As of now, she does not have a YouTube account. 

10.Sherub Lhamo

Sherub Lhamo is one of the well-known faces in the Bhutanese Film Industry. Starting from her first film “Drazin Lhamo”, she has acted in numerous Bhutanese films and won awards and the hearts of many audiences. She is from Trashigang. She has more than 105k followers on Facebook, 61.8k on Instagram, and 1k on Tiktok. As of now, she does not have a YouTube account.
