The Ministry of Health envisages integration of traditional medicine with modern health care system with nation’s rich bio-diversity and proven medical qualities of plants. The maintenance of traditional medicine not only adds dimensions to the nation’s system of health care, but provides an alternative choice of health care service. It should also be regarded as a conscious decision to conserve a part of our rich and varied cultural heritage.
