Job Vacancy: Director, Estate Management – Gelephu Mindfulness City Authority

The Gelephu Mindfulness City Authority is hiring a Director of Estate Management to lead the operations and maintenance of facilities across Bhutan’s most transformative urban development.

Location: Gelephu, Bhutan

Deadline: August 7, 2025

Employment: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Building Maintenance & Repairs: Ensuring buildings and their systems (including facade, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, vertical transportation etc.) are well-maintained to high standards and in good working order.

• Project Management: Planning and executing facility-related projects, such as renovations, expansions, or relocations.

• Space Management: Optimizing the use of space within the facilities and ensuring they meet the needs of the organisation.

• Vendor Management: Overseeing contracts with external vendors for services like cleaning, security, and maintenance.

• Compliance: Ensuring the facilities comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

• Safety and Security: Implementing and maintaining safety protocols and security measures.

• Sustainability: Implementing strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of the facilities.

• Staff Management: Recruiting, managing, supervising and developing facilities staff, including maintenance personnel, custodians, and security guards.

• Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing long-term strategies for the management and improvement of the facilities.

Requirements:

• Bhutanese citizen

• Strong interpersonal skills and deep sense of mission to fulfill the goals of GMC

• At least 10 years of experience in Facilities Management, with a strong focus on operations across different building typologies and a proven track record of leadership

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Facilities Management, Engineering)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Experience with Facilities Management systems and tools

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CFM, FMP) and relevant overseas working experience in countries with established Facilities Management sectors (including in Southeast Asia and/or Pacific regions) will be considered an advantage.
