Company Description
World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is Bhutan’s oldest conservation partner. The partnership began in 1977 through capacity development of local conservation staff. The support gradually evolved into a full country program with several collaborative conservation projects.
Recognizing the need to conserve Bhutan’s natural capital and immense biological diversity, WWF-Bhutan supports the Royal Government with various environmental conservation programs targeting immediate and longer-term conservation issues. The programs include research and study, education and awareness, promotion of sustainable livelihoods, and protection of terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems. Addressing human-wildlife conflict, illegal wildlife trade, and mitigation and adaptation to climate change are of paramount importance to WWF-Bhutan’s conservation works in the country.
By working closely with the communities and the Royal Government on various educational, participatory and innovative initiatives, WWF-Bhutan strives to ensure a progressive convergence of nature, culture and economic vibrancy to build a future where people live in harmony with nature.

Job Description
- MAIN FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the IKI Program Coordinator, the Program Associate will provide administrative and logistics support for the implementation of IKI Living Landscape: Securing Conservation Values (HCV) in the south-western Bhutan Project between WWF Bhutan and WWF Germany.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Implementation
- Liaise with the Program Secretary on the procurement of project equipment.
- Maintain and update project inventory.
- Work with the Project Coordinator and the Senior Program Officer of the Forest & Biodiversity Program to build a common understanding and coordination on project activities.
- Provide administrative support to the organization of conferences, workshops, and other national and international events.
- Schedule and prepare notes and an agenda for project meetings/workshops/conferences.
- Coordinate logistics for travel, meetings, and workshop participants.
- Provide logistics and administrative support for external visitors of the program department (e.g., Processing visas/ permits/tickets/accommodations) and support in preparing background materials, briefs, and information kits for visitors.
- Monitoring and Reporting (Programmatic and Financial)
- Coordinate with MES to ensure project M&E processes and assist the Project Manager in M&E of project activities.
- Support the Program Coordinator and Sr. Program Officer on timely delivery of technical and financial reports to WWF Germany and BMU (Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Germany) on timely delivery of technical and financial reports to WWF Germany
- Verify invoices against work order on project-related purchases/procurements
- Coordination and Communication
- Work with Operations towards ensuring accurate and timely communication and coordination for project-related tasks
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Partnership development
- Meet and visit relevant stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the project results.
- Maintain regular coordination among project partners/donors to ensure coherence and complementarity of project activities.
Qualifications
Education - Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with related field experience.
Experience - At least 3 years of similar work experience is required.
Skills and Abilities
- excellent written and oral English communication skills. Proficiency in the Dzongkha language is necessary.
