This is to inform that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Secretariat, under the Department of Revenue and Customs (DRC), will be conducting an advocacy program on the GST Act 2021.

This is to inform that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Secretariat, under the Department of Revenue and Customs (DRC), will be conducting an advocacy program on the GST Act 2021.

The primary objective of the program is to raise general awareness on the broader fiscal reforms initiated by the Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB), with a focus on the fundamentals of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The session will cover key topics including:

GST fundamentals

Differences between GST and Sales Tax

Benefits of GST

Operational mechanisms of GST

The program is specifically targeted at business entities based in the 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗵𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 as outlined below:

Businesses with an annual turnover of more than 𝗡𝘂. 𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 – Registration under the GST regime is 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 from July 2025. BCCI advises all such businesses to register for this awareness program.

Businesses with an annual turnover between 𝗡𝘂. 𝟮.𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝘂. 𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 – These businesses have the option to 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 under the GST regime.

All eligible Thimphu-based business entities are kindly requested to register using the link provided below or share the link with the concerned businesses.
