The Royal Civil Service Commission is pleased to reannounce the availability of a scholarship (1 slot) to
pursue a relevant master's degree in Japan under Government of Japan (SDG scholarship) funding for
2025 intake as detailed below:

1. Benefits of the Scholarship:
The successful candidates shall receive following benefits during training:
● Tuition Fees (official examination fees, entrance fees, course fees);
● Living Allowance;
● Roundtrip Airfare (once);
● Outfit Allowance (once);
● Moving Allowance (once);
● Research Support Allowances, and
● Medical care (in accordance with the provisions of the medical insurance).
2. Eligibility requirements of the donor (in addition to BCSR 2023):
● Age less than 35 (As of 1-Apr-2025);
● Should have a Bachelor’s Degree;
● Adequate English skills both in written and oral communication i.e. the candidate
must submit one of the following test score if selected:
○ TOEFL iBT: 80 or higher
● General information on the scholarship
● University Information
● JICA preliminary university consultation form
● Application form and other annexures for reference (password to open the document:
jica 2025)
3. Documents required while applying for the scholarship:
The application with the following documents must be submitted to HRDD, RCSC after routing
through respective agencies:
● Research Plan and Career Plan as required by the donor
● CV generated from ZESt;
● Bachelor degree: Copy of Certificate and transcript
● LTT Review Checklist (Click here)
4. Documents required for selection procedure by the JICA (to be submitted if selected in
the interview)
● Application Form for SDGs Global Leadership Program:
○ Personal Information
○ Education Background
○ Work Experiences
○ Consent for joining program from current employer/organization
● Graduation Certificate:
○ Officially certified copies of the original
○ Written in English or accompanied with official translation
● Academic Transcript:
○ Must contain all the grades earned in the University
○ Officially Certified copies of the original
○ Written in English or accompanied with official translation
● Photocopy of certificate of English Test (TOEFL/IELTS);
● A photocopy of passport or ID with photo;
● 2 passport-size photographs (4cm *3cm), and
● Health certificate

6. Important notes:
● Nominations received without the endorsement of the agency and/or with
incomplete documents will not be accepted for the purpose of short-listing;
● Agency and the applicant should ensure the relevance of the course and only eligible
candidates fulfilling requirements are forwarded to HRDD, RCSC on or before the
deadline.
● The final selection of the candidates will be done by the JICA and the accepting
Universities in Japan. Therefore, the candidates are advised not to make major
changes to their home/office life (such as handing over of work, moving out of their
house etc.) until the confirmation of scholarship/admission is received from RCSC;
● For future career progression to Specialist position, Master course should be aligned
to Super Structure;
● Only those candidates who are committed to this scholarship or not planning for others should apply. If the candidate withdraws after getting selected, he/she shall be liable for HR action;
● The scholarship is provided under the funding of JICA and all the scholarship entitlements are confined to those offered by them. Therefore, no additional benefits from the RCSC/RGoB shall be admissible to the candidates under this scholarship.
