The document is a guide and list of activities to undertake in the 11 Gewogs of Chhukha Dzongkhag to develop tourism products and promote tourism in the Dzongkhag in the next 5 years.

13 consultation meetings including the field visits took place in four months to draft the document between September 2020 and March, 2021. The initiative was lead by the Economic Development sector. 

The project was supported by ICIMOD, Nepal in the context of of Kanchenjunga Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative (KLCDI) Bhutan related tourism strategic document development.

The collaborative efforts of Tourism Council of Bhutan, Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators, Nature Conservation Division of MoAF and Royal Society for Protection of Nature with the Chhukha Dzongkhag administration helped to produce the document. 

At the launch ceremony, Officiating Dzongdag (Sr. Dzongrab) Sherub Dorji thanked ICIMOD,and all collaborating agencies for the support and reported on few of the tourism activities from the Tourism Action Plan document  which are already being implemented.
