Presentation on SAMUH, the First Media Tech Startup in Bhutan

Ms Nyema Zam, CEO and founder of SAMUH, gave an insight today to Hon’ble Minister and Dasho Secretary of MoIC, on how it all started and the opportunities it provides for our local content creators and other artists involved.

Ms Nyema Zam, CEO and founder of SAMUH, gave an insight today to Hon’ble Minister and Dasho Secretary of MoIC, on how it all started and the opportunities it provides for our local content creators and other artists involved. Through the content production contracts there are currently around 400 Bhutanese people engaged.SAMUH, Bhutan’s first media tech startup is the first Bhutanese content OTT platform which will be launched in June 2nd, 2021
Ms Nyema also expressed the challenges SAMUH faces, mainly in terms of existing policies and regulations which are not provisioned to OTT platforms like SAMUH.ABCO and MSO representatives were also present and discussed possibilities of future collaborations.

The startup’s OTT platform – SAMUH (meaning cloud in Dzongkha) – will be available through mobile and smart TV Apps and a web platform for laptop and PC users in Bhutan and around the world. Samuh will offer exclusive original Bhutanese films, series, children’s animations, music videos and other local programs. (Source:Business Bhutan)
