What will you be working on? 
1. Cybersecurity Projects:For review and assessment of laws & regulations (ICM ACT 2018) on evolving cyber threats and technology. Drafting of National Cybersecurity Strategy and identification of CII ongoing. Health Data Analytics Project: lead by GovTech-4 years JICA supported project on health data-project titled “Strengthening Government Capacity for Using Digital Technology and Data”- need legal to review various laws and regulations on data protection & sharing. There is a requirement of a legal officer to support the Legal subcommittee of the project to look from the perspective of ICT.
2. Cloud Services Projects:
3. System Operation and Maintenance: Drafting & reviewing of Annual Maintenance (AMC) contract & software subscription contracts.
4. Deep tech capacity building of IT industry in collaboration with international institutes and delivery of digital skilling program with national partners
5. Space Initiatives: Collaboration with foreign entities (governments/companies) is a key aspect while implementing space or satellite projects. Components have to be procured from the global market, coordination with other countries is necessary in terms of resource utilization (frequency, orbital slot), launch opportunities have to be secured with a nation with launch capability and so on. All of these activities require legal documents (contracts, MoUs, agreements) to be drawn and signed. Furthermore, Bhutan does not have any space legislations in place at the moment so there is a need to develop space policy, law and legal documents for our space program.
6. The Agency is involved in framing the licensing terms and conditions for service providers. And to ensure connectivity with the rest of the world, service providers have to maintain partnerships with foreign service providers which involve legal agreements.
