Newly appointed Ambassador and Consul General made a courtesy call on to the Hon’ble Speaker.

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand, Mr. Kinzang Dorji; Ambassador of Bhutan to Kuwait, Mr. Chitem Tenzin, and Bhutan’s Consul General to Royal Bhutanese Consulate in Kolkata, Mr. Chencho Tshering made a courtesy call-on to the Hon’ble Speaker.

The Speaker congratulated them for the appointment and conveyed the expectations of their respective positions, calling attention to the important responsibilities they will have to carry out in the facilitation and promotion of trade and commerce, strengthening tourism inflow, enhancing employment scope, education and scholarships, medical services and a lot more. He said that bilateral relations must go beyond political relations. And this is joining the 21st century economic road map. The Speaker had also said that each ambassador represents a composite of all the government ministries and acting proactively on behalf. 

The Ambassador and Consul General expressed that they felt the heaviness of responsibilities and expectations and that they would commit to the betterment of the country. They thank the Speaker for the openness and engaging discussion. 

The Ambassadors and Consulate General received Tashi Khadhar from the Hon’ble Foreign Minister Dr. Tandi Dorji at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang on 21st April, 2021 after His Majesty the King appointed them. The  Ambassador-designates and Consul General-designate will be leaving to their destination soon.
