To the orange radiance that emanated from His Majesty’s heart, the brothers and sisters who have risen to the occasion to serve the nation through highs and lows, I, Honourary Desuup Dr Lotay Tshering offer my heartfelt gratitude on the auspicious 12th Raising Day.
We complete one significant cycle. It gives us the much desired opportunity to reflect on the enriching journey so far. In these 12 years, almost 35,000 Bhutanese, be it civil servants, private employees, job seekers, politicians, former monks or recent graduates were bestowed with the extraordinary responsibilities of safeguarding the nation.
But this is also a moment to embrace the new beginning. We have so much more to do, in delivering His Majesty’s dreams for the country. As if His Majesty saw what was coming, the Desuung family is the antidote to all the challenges of today.
History has it that Bhutan has seen many challenges.
But leaders and people of the time have fought hard to rein in the troubles, thus taking Bhutan to newer heights. Now is our turn! Today I believe in change because we have His Majesty and we have people like you. I believe in my country and our collective merits.
