This is to inform that the RGOB has mandated Ministry of Economic Affairs (Department of Trade) to pursue a bilateral trading arrangement with Thailand. The Government of Thailand (GOT) has proposed to host the 4th Joint Trade Committee in January/February 2022 and RGOB has requested to discuss a preferential Trade Agreement(PTA) between Bhutan and Thailand during that meeting.
In preparation towards a PTA, the Department of Trade (DoT) is currently in process of identifying a list of potential Bhutanese export products to be negotiated with Thailand for market access.
In this matter, the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) would like to request its members to identify a potential Bhutanese export products and share the list with us along with HS code of product latest by December 10, 2021.
Further, we have circulated this information among our Sector Associations and regional offices to identify the products in their respective areas.
For any additional information, please contact Ms. Sonam Wangmo at 02-322742 or email her at sonam.wangmo@bcci.org.bt
